Andy Murray has today announced that Roger Federer will join him for this year’s ‘Andy Murray Live’ event at the SSE Hydro in November, the first time that the Swiss superstar has played in Scotland.

The Australian Open champion will join the world number one as he hosts his second tennis exhibition event at the venue, which last year raised over £300,000 for Unicef and local Glasgow charity Young People’s Futures.

Murray will take on Federer in a singles match before he is joined by brother Jamie to take on Tim Henman and Mansour Behrami in a more relaxed doubles match, with the proceeds this year being split between Unicef and a different local charity.

Murray said: “Last year was such a fantastic night and to raise over £300,000 for Unicef and Young People’s Futures in our first year was amazing. This year is going to be even bigger and better and I am so pleased to be able to bring Roger to play in

Scotland for the first time – he will get a chance to see for himself just how enthusiastic Scottish fans are, and what a great venue The SSE Hydro is. It is also important for me to be able support Unicef again this year, and to help a different local charity as well."
