A quick-witted response from Renfrewshire's police force to a Facebook comment is going viral, reports Sean Rooney.

Our sister title The Gazette reports that hundreds of people have "liked" the comment on Renfrewshire and Inverclyde Police Division's Facebook page.

The Herald:

Police posted an update on the arrest of a 33-year-old man following the discovery of a suspected cannabis cultivation with a street value of approximately £20,000 in Maxwellton Street, Paisley on Saturday.

However one member of the public, Gordon Spiers from Paisley, took exception to the fashion sense of the man in the picture.

He said: "Shoulda added wearing crosshatch jeans to the charge sheet."

But snappy officers quickly responded: "Gordon, we let the fashion police deal with those offences."

The Herald:

The comment was well recieved, proving that police officers do indeed have a sense of humour.
