A MAN has told a jury how he fell victim to an alleged £117,000 extortion plot by his gay lover, whom he claims threatened to expose his cocaine-fuelled sex life to his family if he didn’t pay up.

Bradley Long, 31, is on trial at Dundee Sheriff Court accused of a plot that saw him allegedly net £81,306 from the man, who cannot be named for legal reasons.

The alleged victim said the plot ended when he reported Mr Long to the police over a demand for another £36,500.

Police arrested Mr Long after witnesses said he was found banging on the man’s door.

The victim told how he met Mr Long while he was working in London more than 10 years ago in a “gay cruising area”.

They began a sexual relationship but lost touch when the man moved to Scotland.

But Mr Long later contacted him on Facebook and they saw each other again.

Mr Long would allegedly bring cocaine they would share and would later ask for payment for the drugs.

However, the court heard that over time the cash demands mounted until the victim was being asked for thousands.

He was allegedly threatened with violence and with details of his life being leaked to his family.

The man said: “I was an utter fool. It went from £750 to £2,000, £6,000, £14,000. The last time it was £36,000.”

Mr Long, of London, denies extortion, attempted extortion, behaving in a threatening manner and misuse of drugs. The trial continues.
