A FEMALE robber wrapped in black bin bags raided a store as scared shoppers fled.

Denise Caisley had two large blades as she entered the Costcutters branch in Barrhead, East Renfrewshire, last March.

A young child was only feet away as Caisley wildly stabbed at a till to try to get it open. But, she gave up after failing to get her hands on cash. She was soon caught by police and claimed two mystery men made her carry out the crime.

The 32-year-old yesterday pled guilty to an assault and robbery charge at the High Court in Glasgow.

A judge withdrew her bail and remanded her in custody pending sentencing next month.

Caisley had been spotted “creeping” outside the Costcutters around 7pm last March 1. She had her hands behind her back with a blade in each.

Caisley’s bizarre outfit to try to hide her identity saw her wear large black bin bags and a mask to cover her face. She also had on dark leggings and latex gloves.

Caisley told officers: “Two guys made me do it. I’m sorry, it’s not my fault.”

Caisley, of Barrhead, also pled guilty to a charge of behaving in a threatening and abusive manner.
