A multi-vehicle collision sparked the closure the A9 in both directions.

Traffic Scotland took to social media to alert drivers of the road closure around 2.20pm on Tuesday.

The A9 was closed at Blair Atholl (House of Bruar) due to the collision, with drivers advised to approach with care and use alternative routes.

The road then reopened to traffic at around 4:15pm. 

Police Scotland confirmed that officers were called to reports of a three-vehicle crash around 1.45pm near the junction with the B8079.
