A woman has died in hospital two weeks after a road accident in Dumfries and Galloway, police said.

Yvonne Blackman, 66, from Dalton, Lockerbie, was driving a Toyota Yaris car on the Dumfries by-pass when the crash involving two other vehicles happened on Wednesday February 8.

She was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow but died on Wednesday, Police Scotland said.

A spokesman said: "The female driver of the Toyota Yaris car which was involved in the serious road traffic collision on the Dumfries by-pass on Wednesday February 8 died within the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow on Wednesday February 22.

"She has been named as 66-year-old Yvonne Blackman, from Dalton, Lockerbie."

A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
