A MAN has been arrested in connection with a death on Edinburgh's Scotland Street 

Officers were called to the property in Scotland Street, in Edinburgh's New Town, at around 5.30am on Friday after neighbours reported a disturbance.

When police forced entry to the flat, they found the badly-injured body of the man.

Enquiries are ongoing to formally identify him.

Following a post-mortem examination the death is being treated as murder. 

The 28-year-old is expected to appear before Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday, December 5. 

Detectives from the Major Investigation Team continue to conduct enquiries in connection with the death.
