Google is working on a computer that can be injected into people's eyeballs.

A new patent filing shows that the technology giant is planning to create a device that would stick into people's eyes and fix their sight, but also provide other benefits.

The machine would be placed behind the visible part of the eye in order to focus light and correct poor vision.

Other powers would include storage capacity, radio and lenses with the device powered with an energy-gathering antenna which would it allow it to connect to other machines outside of the eye to process information.

Google has previously attempted to create eye-linked technology with its Google Glass project, but the idea has failed to take off.
