This week Herald Social's at the Scottish Italian Awards at Glasgow's Hilton Hotel and the VIP opening of Macklin Motors at Port Dundas Road in Glasgow.

The best Italian eateries in the country received prizes at the latest Scottish Italian Awards ceremony.

Captial FM presenter Des Clarke was host as prizes were dished out to individuals and businesses from across Scotland for the event’s fourth year.

Among those taking home awards were Best Restaurant winner La Lanterna, in Glasgow, and Eusebi’s Deli in the city’s west end which won Best Deli/Cafe.

The new £5 million Macklin Motors Nissan dealership’s VIP opening was attended by six-times Olympic cycling champion Sir Chris Hoy.

The eight-storey glass tower in Cowcaddens also hosted the launch of a partnership between the Nissan Juke and children’s charity Cash For Kids, while treating guests to entertainment, including a culinary showcase from chef Tom Kitchin, the youngest winner of a Michelin star.
