As more and more people believe that the wrapping of a gift is just as important as the gift inside, Silverburn Shopping Centre hosted Scotland's first ever Wrap Battle on Wednesday.

A total of sixteen Silverburn shoppers, staff and self-confessed wrap enthusiasts went head-to-head in a series of rounds, wrapping a range of tricky items, including a snow scooter, candlesticks and toy superhero figures.

Each round was accompanied by a live soundtrack courtesy of local rapper Loki who rhymed throughout the battle, building anticipation as shoppers watched on. Competitors were judged on creative flair, technical ability and precision, with the winner scooping £50 worth of Silverburn gift card vouchers.

The Herald:

David Pierotti, General Manager of Silverburn said: "Great wrapping is a sure way to impress everyone on your Christmas gift list and what better way to celebrate the art form than by calling on Glasgow's best to go head-to-head.

"The battle went down a storm with Silverburn shoppers and of course all those self-confessed wrap-o-holics. It was great to have some live music in store too. Roll on Christmas!"

Throughout December Silverburn will be open Monday to Friday from 9am untiul 11pm, Saturday and Sunday: 9am-9pm.

Free gift-wrapping can also be found throughout the mall in select retailers.
