They are all respected painters with decades worth of experience, big individual fan bases and countless awards to their names, but until a few years ago, Rosemary Beaton, Alice McMurrough, Heather Nevay and Helen Wilson, all said they felt intimidated by printmaking. Now, thanks to the encouragement of master printmaker June Carey, they have embraced the ancient techniques of printmaking.

Thomas Wilson: The Greening Grey

When you think of post-industrial sites you don't tend to associate them with thriving plants, wildlife and unexpected bursts of colour but they've proven to be fertile ground for artist Thomas Wilson. His exhibition, created for the Auld Kirk Museum, features an atmospheric mix of drawings and paintings that have been informed by his experiences with the natural world.

The Time Between Lights

The Time Between Lights is a solo show from Scottish textile artist Erin McQuarrie. The works on display were made over the last three years in New York City, Glasgow, and Nairn, where the artist now lives and works. The sculptural, woven pieces are inspired by fragments of colour, light, and the textures of her surroundings using the ancient language of warp and weft to capture these fleeting moments.

A Bonnie Way: Unravelling the seduction of the countryside

Artists Bobbi Cameron, Ufuoma Essi and Sarah Rose explore their experiences of life and conversations in rural and semi-rural places. Each artist brings a different approach to the exhibition that features sculptural works, moving image and sound.

WARDHEAD

WARHEAD is an exhibition of original artworks, paintings, digital art and photography, combined with video and audio, inspired and created by veterans. The minds behind the exhibition, Jason Fearnley and Mac McDade, are Royal Navy veterans and their aim is that combination of imagery and sound will take visitors on a journey of innocence, expectation, trepidation, camaraderie, survival, and hope.
