Savills gets duo from JLL

PROPERTY consultant Savills is to offer a dedicated hotels team in Scotland for the first time after hiring Keith McBain and Steven Fyfe who join as a director and associate respectively.

Both arrive from JLL and will be based at the firm’s Glasgow office. Mr McBain was head of the hotel advisory team in Scotland and has worked within the hotel industry for almost 20 years while Mr Fyfe has valued hotels in the UK and Europe. 
At Savills they will focus on the Scottish and north of England lodging markets.

Dobbie joins board of TRC charity

ANDREW Dobbie, the founding director of digital creative agency MadeBrave, has joined the board of TRC Media, a charity that works closely with network broadcasters including Channel 4 and the BBC.

Mr Dobbie was one of the 2015 delegates in TRC’s Cross Creative programme, a training and development course for senior tech and creative professionals in Scotland’s digital media sector.
As part of the programme, he and fellow delegates benefitted from workshops and got privileged access to some of the world’s most innovative tech, creative and digital companies through a field trip to San Francisco and Silicon Valley. 
Mr Dobbie said: “TRC’s Cross Creative initiative in California, where we met companies like Facebook, Twitter and Dropbox, was a game-changer for me and others who made the trip. 
He added: "So, it was an easy ‘yes’ for me when asked to join the team, contribute to the next cycle at TRC and be an ambassador for all the great things they do for the digital business community in Scotland and across the UK.”

Munro expands for 1825 move

FINANCIAL planning firm Munro Partnership has expanded its Glasgow team as part of an expansion ahead of joining Standard Life’s 1825 financial planning business.

Munro was acquired by 1825 in July 2016. It currently has assets under advice of more than £700m.
Mr Moore’s main focus will be providing advice on wealth and investment strategies, retirement planning options, tax efficient investments, estate planning, and business protection as well as corporate pension advice.
He said: “There are exciting times ahead for the company, and in the financial planning industry generally, and I look forward to the opportunities it will bring.”
