BUSINESSES which have passed through start-up accelerator Entrepreneurial Spark have now created more than 3,100 jobs, with 85 per cent of enterprises still trading.

The figures are released by the organisation as it unveils a programme to extend its service to increasing numbers of entrepreneurs.

A report on the impact made by Entrepreneurial Spark, which has 12 centres across the UK, said it has now supported around 1,700 start-ups across the UK. Those enterprises have so far turned more than £176 million, the report said.

Lucy-Rose Walker, chief executive of Entrepreneurial Spark, said: “Our vision is to create positive social change by giving people the chance to grow and create jobs, and value in the economy. It’s really gratifying to see that those entrepreneurs have now created 3,152 jobs across the UK, all of them creating social change by contributing to their communities and local economies.”
