THE first former BHS shop unit to be re-let in Scotland since the high street retailer went bust will open as an Aldi store.

The grocery discounter will open the doors on the 22,000 square foot outlet at Cameron Toll Shopping Centre this year.

Aldi said the store, which will trade next to existing retailers Game, New Look, Costa Coffee and The Entertainer, will employ 35 staff.

Cameron Toll centre manager Jim Riddell said: “Letting the former BHS unit so soon after it closed last August is extremely positive for the centre and for the other retailers here.

“It highlights how desirable the centre’s location is with shoppers within the city and from further afield.”
