Twenty store, B&W bullocks sold to 209.3p and averaged 154.5p (-1.1p), while 10 store bulls peaked at 275p and levelled at 203.1p.

Messrs Craig Wilson Ltd sold 1443 prime lambs at Ayr yesterday to a top of £97 per head and 211.1p per kg to average 179.2p (-22.9p on the week).

The 694 cast sheep were also back on the week with ewes selling to £148 for Texels and £69 for Blackfaces.

Harrison & Hetherington Ltd sold 28 prime heifers in St Boswells yesterday to a top of 243p and an average of 212.7p (-0.6p), while 12 prime bullocks peaked at 247p and levelled at 219.8p (+8.6p).

In the rough ring 32 beef cows sold to 159p and averaged 127.7p (-4.8p).

There were also 2337 prime lambs that sold to £103 and 223.9p to average£75 and 180p (-16p).

The 305 cast sheep forward saw heavy ewes sell to £110 for Texels and average £79, while light ewes peaked at £80 for Cheviots and levelled at £58.

The firm also sold 18 prime heifers in Carlisle yesterday to a top of 240.5p and an average of 199.1p (-7.4p), while 32 prime, beef-bred bullocks peaked at 229.5p and levelled at 199.2p (-6p). Three prime, dairy-bred bullocks sold to 147.5p and averaged 143.5p (+8.5p). Fifty prime, beef-bred bulls sold to 229.5p and averaged 183.4p (+1.2p), while 38 prime, dairy-bred bulls peaked at 175.5p and levelled at 136.5p.

In the rough ring 102 beef cows sold to 187.5p and averaged 127.6p (-4.4p), while 215 dairy cows peaked at 158.8p and levelled at 92.9p (-6.3p). Seven bulls sold to 131.5p and averaged 116.8p (-3.4p).

There were also 2295 prime lambs that sold to £107.80 and 250.8p to average 186.9p (-9.2p).

The 161 cast sheep forward saw heavy ewes sell to £97.50 for Texels and average £69.67, while light ewes peaked at £59.50 for Jacobs and levelled at £40.27.

Lawrie & Symington Ltd sold 22 prime heifers in Lanark yesterday to a top of 246p and an average of 221.2p (-1.6p), while 11 prime, beef-bred bullocks peaked at 228p and averaged 201.1p (-2.4p). Twenty prime, B&W bullocks sold to 145.5p and averaged 130.5p (-2.1p).

In the rough ring 44 beef cows averaged 122.1p (+4.1p) and 58 dairy cows levelled at 91.6p (+2.1p).

The firm also sold 1794 prime lambs to a top of £197.50 and 221.3p to average 179.8p (-25).

The 595 cast sheep forward saw ewes sell to £138.50 for a Texel.
