C&D Auction Marts Ltd sold 125 store heifers in Dumfries yesterday to a top of 213.8p and an average of 192.7p, while 70 store, beef-bred bullocks peaked at 226.4p and levelled at 193.6p. Ten store, B&W bullocks sold to 137.3p and averaged 126.8p.
Messrs Craig Wilson Ltd sold 1939 prime lambs at Ayr yesterday to a top of £85 per head and 178.6p per kg to average 151.1p (+5.3p on the week).
There were also 501 cast sheep forward when ewes sold to £107.50 for a pen of Texels and £57.50 for Blackfaces.
Harrison & Hetherington Ltd sold 61 prime heifers in St Boswells yesterday to a top of 247p and an average of 214.1p (-8.2p), while 43 prime bullocks peaked at 248p and levelled at 209.7p (-4.6p). A couple of prime bulls averaged 133.7p.
In the rough ring 108 beef cows averaged 111.8p (-7.5p) and 3 clean OTM cattle levelled at 146.2p (-5.9p).
The firm also sold 2300 prime lambs to a top of £89 and 188.2p to average £70 and 157.2p (+10.1p).
The 357 cast sheep forward saw heavy ewes average £75.94 and light ewes level at £49.14.
The firm also sold 10 prime heifers in Carlisle yesterday to a top of 217.5p and an average of 184.5p (+4.8p), while 22 prime, beef-bred bullocks peaked at 214.5p and levelled at 195.7p (+10.6p). Three prime, B&W bullocks sold to 143.5p and averaged 134.2p (-4.5p).
Twenty-four prime, beef-bred bulls sold to 219.5p and averaged 193.8p (+11.6p), while 36 prime, dairy-bred bulls peaked at 167.5p and levelled at 145p (+8p).
In the rough ring 96 beef cows averaged 110.3p (+0.4p) and 242 dairy cows levelled at 84.9p (+5.5p). Six bulls averaged 104p (+11.8p).
The firm also sold 2918 prime lambs to a top of £91.80 and 229.5p to average 155.5p (+2.9p).
The 238 cast sheep forward saw heavy ewes sell to £84 for Millenium Bleu and average £54.13, while light ewes peaked at £64 for Hill Cheviots and levelled at £40.49.
Lawrie & Symington Ltd sold 17 prime heifers in Lanark yesterday to a top of 251p and an average of 234.8p (-2.2p), while 15 prime, beef-bred bullocks peaked at 228p and levelled at 207.6p (-2.1p). Eighteen prime, B&W bullocks sold to 136p and averaged 130.2p (-5.2p).
In the rough ring 38 beef cows averaged 106.5p (-3.1p) and 76 dairy cows levelled at 79.1p (-3.6p). Three bulls averaged 89.5p.
The firm also sold 2412 prime lambs to a top of £80 and 180p to average 152.9p (-0.1p).
The 613 cast sheep forward averaged £63.33.
