Maybe it’s a case of nerves, or maybe George Osborne just wants to get his head down and crack on with his upcoming Budget, but the Chancellor seemed less than impressed with the loud noise being made by the Top Gear crew during filming.

He scolded Top Gear’s Chris Evans for making a racket near Downing Street and distracting him from concentrating on the task at hand, while a “noisy episode” of the BBC Two show was being filmed in central London on Sunday.

Here’s what he tweeted:

The Budget is due to be delivered on Wednesday.

On Saturday, Top Gear host Matt LeBlanc and professional rally driver Ken Block surprised a bride and groom and their wedding guests at St Paul’s Cathedral as they motored past, with the former Friends star sticking his arm out of the car window to wave.

Filming for the Top Gear reboot is well under way, with the new series of the BBC Two show due to air in May.

LeBlanc took to Twitter to confirm that filming was in full swing near Westminster with a photo taken from his car.

A seven-strong line-up includes the Friends actor, radio DJ and presenter Evans, and Top Gear stalwart The Stig.

Also on board are Formula 1 commentator Eddie Jordan, German racing driver Sabine Schmitz, motoring journalist Chris Harris and car reviewer Rory Reid.
