Jemima Levick has been appointed as the new artistic director and chief executive of the Stellar Quines Theatre Company.

She will take up post when founding artistic director Muriel Romanes, steps down at the end of April 2016. Romanes said that she is "thrilled, delighted and excited" that Ms Levick is taking the job.

Marilyn Imrie, Chair of Stellar Quines Theatre Company, said: "The board of Stellar Quines look forward very much to working with Jemima, and feel confident she will take the company on from the superb foundations laid so brilliantly by Muriel Romanes."

Ms Levick has been Artistic Director at Dundee Rep Theatre since 2013, and prior to that was Associate Director for 3 years. She has won and been nominated for a number of awards and has directed more than 18 productions at the Rep, most recently The Witches, Great Expectations, James & the Giant Peach and The Glass Menagerie.

Established in 1993, Stellar Quines is an award winning Scottish theatre company that "celebrates the energy, experience and perspective of women."

The Red Hot Chilli Pipers, acclaimed singer songwriter King Creosote and the re-formed Indie band Astrid have signed up to join the Hebridean Celtic Festival’s 21st birthday party.

It will be the Chilli Pipers’ third visit to HebCelt in eight years, while King Creosote, aka Kenny Anderson, will be making his debut at the award-winning festival. Astrid reunited last year after an 11-year hiatus and will tour and release a new album this year.

Also confirmed for the 2016 line-up are Rura, Blue Rose Code, Bella and The Bear, Hazey Janes, Rusty Shackle, Sink Ships, Urban Teuchtars, Whisky Kiss, Hunter & The Bear, Woodenbox and Something Someone.

The festival previously announced that it will also feature Scottish rock legends Runrig, international singing star Julie Fowlis, and folk trio Talisk.

The largest exhibition of The Queen's dress and accessories shown in Scotland will open at the Palace of Holyroodhouse on 21 April, her 90th birthday.

It is one of three exhibitions entitled Fashioning a Reign: 90 Years of Style from The Queen's Wardrobe to be held at official residences during 2016. In total over 150 outfits worn by The Queen will be presented across three Royal palaces.

The display at the Palace of Holyroodhouse has been selected to cover The Queen's life and reign and includes evening and day wear by the British couturiers Sir Norman Hartnell, Ian Thomas and Stewart Parvin, who trained at Edinburgh College of Art, and the milliner Philip Somerville. All outfits will be on display in Scotland for the first time.
