Game of Thrones author George RR Martin has revealed that one of his supernatural novels is being turned into a TV series.

Martin announced on his blog that Cinemax has placed a script order for The Skin Trade, a novel he wrote in the 1980s for horror anthology Night Vision 5.

Cinemax announced the show’s synopsis as: “A collections agent who happens to be a werewolf and his friend, a private investigator, discover a dark secret behind a series of grisly murders in their decaying industrial city.”

According to Digital Spy, the series will be executive produced by Martin, Mark B Newbauer, Kalinda Vazquez, Vince Gerardis, Paul Sansone, Rich Angell and Lisandro Cruz.

Vazquez, who has previously worked on Prison Break and Once Upon A Time, will also write scripts for the show.

Martin wrote on his blog: “Kalinda’s take on the story and the characters blew me away.

“She loves the story and the world, and really seems to get Willie and Randi, and her pitch to Cinemax was one of the most polished and professional I’ve ever heard. I love her enthusiasm, and look forward to working with her.”

However, fear not Games of Thrones fans, Martin has confirmed that he will not be able to write scripts for the new show due to his commitment to writing the next novel in the popular GoT series.
